Add Watermark to Images Free — Browser-Based, No Upload Needed

Add text or image watermarks to your photos directly in your browser. Completely private — no uploads, works offline, and free for any number of images.

Protecting your photos with a watermark is a smart move for photographers, designers, and content creators. SimpleTools Image Watermark lets you add text or logo watermarks to images entirely in your browser — your photos never leave your device.

Why Watermark Images?

  • Copyright protection: Mark your photos with your name or brand so they can’t be used without attribution
  • Brand visibility: Add your logo to images shared on social media for consistent brand presence
  • Proof of ownership: Timestamp and brand watermarks help establish original creation
  • Client preview protection: Share preview watermarked images with clients before delivering originals
  • Event photography: Watermark event photos before sharing a gallery for selection

What Kind of Watermarks Can You Add?

Text Watermarks

  • Custom text (your name, URL, brand name, copyright notice)
  • Font selection: size, weight, and style options
  • Colour and opacity control
  • Positioning: corner, centre, or custom position
  • Diagonal or horizontal orientation

Image Watermarks

  • Upload your logo as a PNG with transparency
  • Position in any corner or the centre
  • Control size and opacity

Why Do It in the Browser?

If you send your photos to a cloud-based watermarking service:

  1. Your original photos travel to their servers
  2. They’re processed and returned
  3. The service may retain copies or logs

For photographers especially, original high-resolution photos are valuable creative assets. Keeping them local is the right choice.

SimpleTools Image Watermark:

Your photos never leave your browser tab
Batch watermarking — process multiple photos at once
Works offline — watermark without internet access
No watermarks ON TOP of your watermarks (no service branding)
Free for any volume of images

How It Works

The tool uses the browser’s Canvas API to composite the watermark:

  1. The source image is drawn onto an offscreen Canvas element
  2. Text watermarks are drawn using ctx.fillText() with your chosen font, size, colour, and opacity
  3. Image watermarks (logos) are drawn using ctx.drawImage() with alpha transparency
  4. The composited result is exported from the canvas as JPEG or PNG
  5. The file is made available for download — all in memory, never on a server

Batch processing applies the same watermark to each image sequentially using a queue.

How to Use the Image Watermark Tool

  1. Go to simpletools.one/image-watermark
  2. Click Choose Images and select your photos (or drag and drop)
  3. Choose Text or Image watermark type
  4. For text: Enter your watermark text, choose font size, colour, and opacity
  5. For image: Upload your logo PNG
  6. Set the watermark position (corner, centre, or tile)
  7. Preview the result on a sample image
  8. Click Apply & Download to watermark all selected images

Watermark Best Practices

Opacity: 30–50% opacity for professional-looking watermarks that protect without dominating the image.

Positioning: Corner watermarks are easy to crop out. Diagonal centre watermarks are harder to remove without damaging the photo.

Size: Make the watermark large enough to be readable but not so large it ruins the viewing experience.

For client previews: More prominent, higher-opacity watermarks make it clear this is a preview; the client will receive an unmarked original after approval/payment.

For social sharing: Subtle corner watermarks with your website URL are a good balance between protection and aesthetics.

Who Is This For?

  • Photographers protecting work shared online or with prospective clients
  • Graphic designers delivering branded preview versions to clients
  • Social media managers adding brand logos to image content
  • Content creators marking original images before sharing
  • E-commerce sellers adding brand identity to product photos
